ProMax Free

3.1.0

  • New: colour schemes - Default, Green, Red, Blue and Purple - in Customize > Colors & Layout, with live preview. Every scheme meets WCAG AA contrast and also recolours the block editor palette.
  • New: post layouts - Grid and List - in Customize > Colors & Layout.
  • New: WooCommerce pages (shop, product, cart, checkout, account) are full width by default. Customize > ProMax WooCommerce > Shop layout can show a new Shop Sidebar widget area or the blog sidebar instead.
  • Changed: no author box on WooCommerce pages; 4 product columns at full width, 3 next to a sidebar; account login forms keep a comfortable width.
  • Fixed: dropdown menus did not open on hover on touchscreen PCs; touch taps now open a dropdown first and follow the link on the second tap.
  • Fixed: sticky posts lost their card layout.
  • New: SEO - breadcrumbs carry schema.org BreadcrumbList markup (left out when Yoast SEO, All in One SEO or The SEO Framework already describe the trail). With Yoast SEO or Rank Math breadcrumbs switched on, their trail replaces the theme's. Shop, product and product category pages now show WooCommerce breadcrumbs.
  • Fixed: SEO - hAtom (hentry) data was incomplete on pages, unmodified posts and cards without the date stamp, which Search Console reports as structured data errors. The browser now fetches the first post image first, instead of a header banner. The hidden "Latest posts" heading no longer comes before the page's h1. Card images without alt text use the post title. Page 2 onwards of an archive links back to page 1 in the breadcrumbs.
  • Fixed: the first Popular Posts image is no longer lazy-loaded (often the largest image on screen on desktop), and sidebar images download at sidebar size.
  • Fixed: footer credit links are underlined, not marked by colour alone.
  • Removed: TGM Plugin Activation and its recommended-plugins notice.

  • Removed: Vine, StumbleUpon and Skype social icons (services closed); saved icons are cleared automatically.
  • Developers: templates moved to /template-parts and /inc. Template tags, hooks, widget areas, menu locations and Customizer setting names are unchanged.

  • New: Blog Layout settings - 8 post layouts (grid, list, classic blog, masonry, overlay, featured + grid, zigzag, compact), a separate layout for archives and search, 4 card styles (shadow, bordered, flat, boxed), 2 to 4 columns and 4 image shapes, with live preview.
  • New: WooCommerce pages (shop, product, cart, checkout, account) are full width by default. Customize > ProMax WooCommerce Settings > Shop layout can show a new Shop Sidebar widget area or the blog sidebar, on the left or right; a layout chosen on the cart, checkout or account page itself still wins.
